DME Sports Academy is proud to announce our inaugural DME Hockey Academy under the guidance of former NHL player and Stanley Cup winner Eric Perrin. The hockey academy offers elite hockey training as well as education opportunities for players looking to grow their individual skills at a faster and more intense pace.
As DME Sports Academy slowly reopens, we would like to share our Covid-19 protocols going forward.
DME Alumni and Canisius College forward Jacco Fritz has maximized his minutes and role at forward in his first season of Division I Basketball. Netherlands native Jacco had an incredible rookie year, with three #MAACHoops Rookie of the Week honors. He is just the third Canisius player to earn this award multiple times in a season since 2006-07.
He also earned a spot on MAAC All Rookie-Team. Fritz is the 12th player in school history to earn MAAC All-Rookie Team honors. One of the highlights of Fritz season was his career-high of 16 points performance against Mercer University! He also had a career-high of 10 rebounds vs. St. Bonaventure. Fritz also is considered one of the “luckiest players” in the MAAC by growing an inch before joining the Griffs in the fall.
Before joining, Fritz played the 2018-19 season here at DME. He averaged 10.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game at DME. He played in 25 games in 2018-19, where he shot 64.5 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from 3-point land, and 62.8 percent from the free-throw line. Jacco is now on the campus of Canisius during this pandemic and campus shut down due to COVID-19. Jacco expressed how he didn’t want to deal with online classes and the Netherlands six hours ahead of Buffalo.
We are going Instagram Live with Jacco (Friday, May 8th @ 2 pm) on his update, family, and basketball career, and will have a Q&A from the viewers. Ask this Netherlands native all the questions, from transitioning to the USA for postgrad and from DME to college!

HARD WORK PAYS OFF!
DME Student-Athletes who have committed to continue their academic and athletic career at the next level!
BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Our DME Volleyball program is proud to announce the addition of beach volleyball to our wide array and growing list of volleyball programs. We will be working side by side to transition Elite Beach Volleyball into the DME family in 2020. A true win-win for anyone looking to play ball in the sand!
Elite Beach was born on the beaches of Daytona Beach, Florida in 2009. For the past several years they have excelled in organizing, managing, and training junior athletes to excel in sand volleyball. Since inception Elite Beach has grown from a small footprint in Daytona Beach, starting with six courts, and now has the capacity to expand up to 16 courts for training, leagues and tournaments. For the latest updates, check our beach volleyball web page.

RECREATIONAL LEAGUE
DME Sports volleyball club director Dawn Moses is proud to announce our own in-house recreational volleyball league. “We have discovered that there is a demand for a program that provides great training for a great price but also works for players and parents not quite ready for a full club commitment,” says Director Moses. “Our rec program will feature our ‘best in the area’ club coaches as well as our club teaching and training philosophies, at a much lower price.” The league that began in March and was scheduled to end the last week of April, but we only had one week currently completed. We will pick this league up when we are able to and resume where we left off.
SPRING LEAGUE
We do not have official word that all of the tournaments rescheduled for summer are canceled, however, we expect that to be the case.
FALL BALL / MINI CLUB
The Mini-Club Season is geared towards young athletes who are looking to develop their fundamental volleyball skills, while being able to compete in 2-4 local tournaments. All of our mini club teams will participate in the United League which has a championship tournament in mid-October. Mini-club teams play other Florida volleyball clubs so that they can experience tournaments like competition. The goal is to put players on the path to play at more competitive levels when Spring season arrives, as well as develop their skills to assist them in making their school teams. Teams are formed by age groups and skill level. The players will practice times a week depending on the program they are placed on. Placements are currently scheduled for early August.

Dear DME Sports/Daytona Field House Community,
Based on the current status of the coronavirus (Covid 19), DME Sports and Daytona Field House owners and managers have made the decision to close our facility and suspend our programs at the end of today and will stay closed until further notice.
We firmly believe that this is in the best interests of everyone. If you are involved in a current program, we will be in touch about next steps as soon as possible.
As of March 16, 2020, there are NO KNOWN CASES of this virus among the DME Sports Academy community. In addition, there is no indication that our campus is under any immediate risk, but we are taking proactive steps to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy.
While we are closed, our staff will be cleaning and sanitizing the entire facility from top to bottom so that when we are able to reopen, we will be ready to go.
We will continue to keep you updated with the latest Academy/Field House related information, always doing what’s in the best interest of our DME community.
