We wanted to write to you regarding some of the recent cheer related posts that appeared on social media. While we respect each person’s right to his or her opinion, we strongly disagree with the hurtful and inaccurate comments that were made about our Academy and the DME brand.
After trying to integrate a struggling local cheer team into our academy, we recently made the difficult decision to cancel the program. This decision was made after weighing what we believe was best for all parties involved. We wish all members of the cheer team nothing but the best as they move forward in their future endeavors.
As all of you are aware we have several successful programs within the DME family. We truly wanted to make cheer a part of our ever-growing family.
DME Sports Academy will continue to build on our elite sports model that has attracted some the best coaching, players, and leadership from around the world. Our students, athletes, and staff represent each gender with open arms. Our athletes have come to us from over ten countries and six continents. We are truly a representation of the world.
Passionate owners Dan and Mike Panaggio will continue to invest in the Daytona Beach community through multiple business endeavors including DME Sports Academy.

Due to Approaching Hurricane Irma
DAYTONA, FL: September 5th, 2017 — Due to Florida’s state of emergency because of the approaching Hurricane Irma, DME Sports Academy is postponing its Hurricane Harvey fundraiser until further notice.
DME Sports Academy still wishes to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey, but we also need to give our local families the opportunity to focus on their own safety.

Hurricane Harvey landed in Texas; recently displacing thousands, causing deaths, injuries, and massive damage to property and public works.

We’re happy to see CEO Lance Blanks and his family are reportedly safe and out of harm’s way from the destruction of Hurricane Harvey.
In the nick of time, Lance and his older daughter, Riley, were able to evacuate Lance’s parents from the Southeast Region of Houston (in Clear Lake) to Austin, Texas. Younger daughter, Bryn, traveled to Texas with Direct Relief to cover the storm in an effort to gain support for victims of Hurricane Harvey. There is no telling how long Lance’s parents will be displaced from their homes, or what state their homes will be in when they return, but for now everyone is secure. DAYTONA BEACH, FL. July 31, 2017//dmesportsacademy.com – DME Sports Academy, an elite
sports training company, is hosting its first Invitational Super Session. Top athletes from
across the country and Europe will meet in Florida for next level training and competitive
games, August 5th – 6th, 2017.
The Super Session acts as a culminating event, of coast to coast basketball camps, activated by
Director of Camps, Nick Couluris. The former Director of Five Star Basketball, Couluris spent
seven years developing basketball camps in over 40 locations across six continents. It’s safe to
say, Couluris has a keen eye for talent and a propensity for building relationships.
“The type of athletes that will be invited our Invitational Super Session are hungry. They are
resilient, doing whatever it takes to fine tune their skills in their “pursuit of excellence,” which
is what we’re all about at DME Sports Academy. The Super Session will include the best of the
best,” said Couluris.
DME Sports Academy pulled talent and hosted skill development camps in the areas of Los
Angeles, Dallas, New York City Tri State Area, and Florida. An invitation has been extended to
the top performers at each camp. It is projected that regional top 100 talents will be in
attendance, alongside numerous projected Division I Athletes. In addition, the London, UK
Showcase Elite Basketball team, will also be participating in the Super Session.
On Saturday, August 5th, DME Sports Academy is inviting the press for a Media Day in the large
studio from 11:30am – 12:30pm. The time will serve as an opportunity for 120 potential high
school varsity athletes to talk one on one with top media influencers in basketball.
Next, from 12:30pm – 1:30 pm, coaches will sit down for a Chalk Talk with DME Sports
Academy’s CEO Lance Blanks. Blanks, a 1990 1st round draft pick for the Detroit Pistons,
Director of Scouting for the San Antonio Spurs, Assistant GM for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and
GM for the Phoenix Suns, will speak candidly about the changing dynamics of high school
sports as it pertains to recruiting for college basketball.

Well-known for its basketball, soccer, volleyball and football training, DME Sports Academy desired to open a new door with the addition of an All-Star Cheerleading program. After ample talks with the owners of Champion Elite, Mike and Dan Panaggio, the co-founders of the academy decided to adopt its All-Star Cheerleading program with its athletes and coaches joining DME Sports Academy.
The All-Star Cheer program prides itself on teaching the value of teamwork, dedication, and athleticism. All the coaches here are USASF-certified who can bring the highest level of knowledge to the sport. Affirmative coaching, dedicated athletes, and passionate parents make the program a triple threat on the competition floor. It holds the belief that every athlete can leave this year feeling accomplished not only as an athlete but as a person in the community as well.
The All-Star Cheer program is in its first month of opening. It has three new coaches and many new athletes as well as the new spring floor and tumbling equipment. All – Star Cheer athletes and interested participants are invited to attend weekend tumbling clinics every Saturday morning. Beginning July 15th, athletes will be able to participate in BHS, Tucks, and Layout/Full Clinics. On July 22nd, the next fundraiser for All – Star Cheer will be hosted at Giuseppe’s Pizza on Nova Road. An online popcorn fundraiser is projected to take place in August, as well.

July 7-9 Our Senior 4 and 4.2 teams will be traveling to Brandon All-Stars for skills camp. The camp will allow our girls to learn the latest skills and techniques from one of the best gyms in Florida! These skills will carry over into their routines that will be performed this season.

Athletes can come and work on their tumbling technique while also learning new skills! Cost is $25 per athlete, per clinic.
July 21-21: Coaches Training DME All-Star Cheer coaches will be traveling to Orlando, FL for a Regional meeting and training seminar. This event will allow DME’s cheer program to be the ONLY program in Volusia county with a fully certified USASF cheer staff!!
July 22nd: Car Wash Fundraiser Come support the DME All-Star Cheer program by getting your car washed at Guiseppe’s Pizza on Nova Road. All profits will benefit the all-star cheer program. We thank you all in advance for your help this season! We will be hosting the car wash from 10:30-3:00pm.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL. June 19, 2017/DMESports.com DME Sports Academy, a dynamic elite sports training company, announces the expansion of services with the launch of a private school. The school, the first of its kind in Volusia County, will begin August 14, 2017.
DME Sports Academy is led by a host of former professional executives and coaches, including former NBA coach Dan Panaggio, former NBA general manager Lance Blanks and former premier soccer league athlete and coach Aidan Davison.
The school will offer an innovative and cutting-edge approach in educating boys and girls in grades 6-12. Sports training will include basketball, soccer, volleyball, football and All-Star Cheerleading. Student-athletes will receive specialized training focused on agility, endurance, strength, strategy and sport-specific skill development.
“Ultimately a graduate of DME Sports Academy will be prepared to excel both on and off the court/field through the development of the whole person!” said Panaggio. “Our student-athletes will graduate with a drive to passionately tackle whatever obstacle lies before them.”
Known for expert sports training, DME Sports Academy is looking to become equally renowned for academics. Lynette Bowman, an experienced educator and administrator, was recently named Chief Academic Administrator and will lead the cutting-edge school. “We are going to expand the scope of both traditional and classical education,” said Bowman. “Our goal is to create an exceptional school, balancing athletic training and excellence in education.”
DME Sports Academy can customize the education of its students using Florida Virtual School (FLVS) and offers NCAA compliance for all coursework. Using FLVS, DME Sports Academy provides individualized student education meeting them right where they are academically, but as a private school, can cluster students in virtual lab classes to allow for live cooperative learning opportunities.

Founded in 2015, DME Sports Academy began as a private sports training facility providing youth, collegiate and professional sports training and teams for domestic and international athletes. DME Sports Academy is located in Daytona Beach, FL, minutes from I-95 and I-4 exits.
DAYTONA BEACH – It has been a little over a month since we wrapped up our Post Graduate season, and in that time, we’ve had five of our athletes sign their National Letter of Intent to play at the college level.
This has been a significant accomplishment for athletes like Richard Feagin, who committed to play at Morehead State University, and Marlo Brown who committed to Northern Illinois University. Both decided to play a Post Graduate year with the goal of earning a Division 1 scholarship. The two high school teammates were reunited at DME Sports Academy and played their way into accomplishing their goals. A year of strength training, skill development and competitive basketball has set them up to succeed at the next level.
DME teammates Joshua Curls and Junior Madut came to DME Sports Academy with their own goals and vision of how they could benefit from a Post Graduate year. Curls, a native of View Park, CA, decided to stay close to his roots by committing to California State University, Chico. A versatile guard, Curls looks to contribute to a program that makes a run at a Division 2 National Championship each year. Madut, who came to DME Sports Academy from Australia, made the decision to stay in the United States and continue his basketball career at Eastern Florida State College. He looks to make an immediate impact on a team that finished as the #2 nationally ranked team in the NJCAA last season. Kerian Ulhen, a DME Sports Academy Post Graduate came to the Unites States for the first time, in October from France. He has recently committed to Averett University in Danville, Virginia. Uhlen’s hard work and tenacity will make him an impact player in the USA South Athletic Conference.
DAYTONA BEACH — DME Sports Academy is proud to announce that Junior’s Sarah Luoma and Kamari Potter of our 17 Black team, have both verbally committed to the University of Tampa.
If you know these young women, you’d understand that this was no coincidence. Both athletes have demonstrated a high level of maturity, true leadership, and a consistent display of hard work to reach their fullest potential. Earlier this year, Sarah made the AVCA Phenom List, the JVA watch list, and was placed on the all area first team. Sarah was also the most outstanding player for the New Smyrna Beach High School team, which finished in the Regional Championship.
At Mainland High School, Kamari was named offensive player of the year, and lead her team in the most kills and blocks. This year, Kamari was also placed on the JVA watch list. Academically, Kamari has made honor role this year.
These two best friends will not only have each other as they embark on a new journey, but they will have the support of a tightly knit community – their family, friends, teammates, and coaches. Here’s what they all had to say:
